The Inn
at Jim Thorpe - 24 Broadway.
Painstakingly and lovingly restored, The Inn at Jim Thorpe recalls
that highflying era of gaslights and horse-drawn carriages, black
diamonds and Victorian opulence. Built in the 1840s, it has provided
comfort to some of the 19th century's most influential and colorful
people. It is said General Grant, President Taft, Buffalo Bill, Thomas
Edison and John D. Rockefeller have all passed through the doors.
Walk around the truly quaint town of Jim Thorpe, visit historic homes
and sites or canoe, raft or bike the local mountains and rivers. Skiing
is only 20 minutes. (Editor's note) This is (really!) a delightful
place to stay, the rooms are very nicely decorated and furnished -
some rooms have 2 double beds (which is unusual for B&B type places)
and all are clean and comfortable.

DIRECTIONS FROM PHILADELPHIA AND SOUTH JERSEY
Take route 76 west to route 476 north. Follow 476 north (it becomes
the Northeast extension of the PA turnpike). Stay on route 476 for
approximately one hour. Get off at exit 34. From there take route
209 south. (Approximately 6 miles) into Jim Thorpe. At the first
traffic light make a left onto Broadway. The Inn is the 3rd building
on the right. Parking is on the side and in back.
DIRECTIONS FROM WESTERN PA.
Take routes 78/22 West into Allentown area. Take routes 476 N (PA
turnpike, Northeast extension). Get off at exit 34. Jim Thorpe exit.
Take 209 South (for approximately 6 miles) into Jim Thorpe. Make
left at first light in town onto Broadway. Inn is the 3rd building
on the right. Parking is on the side and in back.
DIRECTIONS FROM DELAWARE, BALTIMORE, DC AREA
Take 95 north to route 76 west into Philly area. Take 76 west to
route 476 north (Pa turnpike, northeast extension). Take that for
about one hour. Get off at exit 34. Take 209 south (for about 6
miles) into Jim Thorpe. Make left at first light in town. The Inn
is 3rd building on the right. Parking is on the side and in back.
DIRECTIONS FROM NORTH JERSEY & NYC AREA
Take route 80 West into PA. Get off at exit 46A(route 209/33) Go
approximately 6 miles. Take 209 south, Lehighton turn off. Continue
on 209 for approximately 40 minutes into Jim Thorpe. At first light
in town make a left turn. Inn is 3rd building on the right. Parking
is on the side and in back.
DIRECTIONS FROM CENTRAL NEW JERSEY
Take 78 west into PA. It becomes 78/22 in PA. Watch for signs for
PA. Turnpike, N.E. extension. (Route 476). Take 476 north to exit
34, Jim Thorpe exit. Take route 209 south (approximately 6 miles)
into Jim Thorpe. Make a left turn at first light in town. Inn is
3rd building on the right. Parking is on the side and in back
